How Artwork Assignment Works for Your Marketing

To master artwork assignment, it helps to understand how Colateral's data hierarchy flows:

  1. The Campaign Element: The physical or digital item format mapped inside Campaign Builder.
  2. The Artwork Brief: The specific creative content and requirements loaded for that element.
  3. The Assignment: The act of linking that specific brief to a creative resource (a Studio Manager or an Artworker) so the design work can begin.

Role Definitions in the Creative Studio

To maintain clean division of labor, Colateral leverages distinct user roles:

  • Studio Manager: The orchestrator. They oversee the creative pipeline, monitor overall deadlines, and triage incoming briefs to assign them to individual designers.
  • Artworker: The creator. They receive assigned briefs, upload design files (such as SVGs), apply edits based on feedback, and submit drafts for review.

Pro Tip: By assigning a Studio Manager first, you allow them to act as a funnel. Your campaign managers only need to assign briefs to the Studio Manager, who then delegates the tasks to individual artworkers as capacity allows.
