How to manage Allocations Stock Overs

To manage stock levels and ensure locations have adequate coverage, the system allows you to define Stock Overs at the item level. Stock Overs provide additional inventory beyond the base allocation to account for damage, loss, or high-demand periods.

Stock Overs are applied through allocation rules and can be configured as either fixed quantities or percentage-based values.

Stock Over Types

1. Quantity Overs

Quantity overs add a specific number of extra units per location within a targeted group.
 The total overage is calculated as:

Quantity × Number of Target Locations

Available targeting options:

• Locations
   Apply a fixed overage to individual locations

• Features
   Target locations based on attributes

• Location Lists
   Apply fixed overs to predefined groups 

2. Percentage Overs

Percentage-based overs add a calculated buffer on top of the total base allocation.

• Assets
   Define a percentage (e.g. 10%) that is added to the total quantity required across all locations.
  
  

This approach is ideal for bulk items where a consistent buffer is required across the entire campaign.
